Though individually, our connection to music is a personal experience — it’s also powerfully unifying. Akepele Apparel was created to remind us of this and to keep the conversation going by way of fashionable streetwear for the masses. THE BRAND
Named after the phonetic spelling of acapella, meaning “without instrument” or “vocal only.” Akepele Apparel is like a visual storyboard – with designs that express movement, that invoke a certain feeling, that make a statement, or that bookmark an important time or fixture in our musical culture and history.
At our core, Akepele is a hip hop inspired brand, and we also dig deep into the music, the style, and the history that shaped the foundation of hip hop to pull our inspiration from. Akepele pays homage to the pioneers, innovators, heroes, and creators who unknowingly contributed to the most influential subculture in modern history – and weave that same creative energy and passion into every stitch, graphic, and product drop. Akepele isn’t just clothing — it’s a way of life.
